Project Overview
In public-facing environments, security personnel are often required to respond to safety risks as they develop. In this instance, the priority was to recognise the danger early, prevent the situation from escalating, and ensure the right parties were informed without delay.

Challenge
The situation developed quickly and involved a clear risk of serious injury. A prompt response was needed to alert others nearby, reduce the immediate danger, and escalate the incident through the proper channels.
Approach
While stationed at the Remote Post, TSO Toh Lee Muay spotted a member of the public attempting to scale the station concourse railing. She quickly alerted nearby commuters to prevent a fall onto the platform, then promptly notified the Station Manager. The Police and SCDF were subsequently activated to assist.
Outcome
The situation was brought under control before a fall occurred, and the relevant emergency authorities attended to the matter. The incident was managed quickly, with the necessary escalation carried out in a timely manner.
What this incident highlights
Situations like this show the importance of situational awareness in public-facing security roles. When risks emerge suddenly, early recognition, clear judgement, and prompt escalation can play an important part in preventing harm.
